Medicine Hat College invites applications for a casual Library Assistant I in our Vera Bracken Library.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Manager, Library Customer Service, responsibilities include delivery, set up, checking and retrieving equipment & software for classes, lectures, conferences, and workshops. Utilizing excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, the Library Assistant provides customer service to library users, helping them locate, use and borrow a wide variety of library resources and services. This position also provides assistance to users on the operation of various types of equipment (multimedia-specific equipment, printers, and photocopiers) and troubleshoots problems.
Details:
- Certificate in a related field with experience in customer service.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of computer and modern technology operations required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment with pressing deadlines.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to interact and function as a team and to provide customer service.
- Physically able to do a lot of walking and lifting equipment.
Term of Appointment: ASAP to October 31, 2026
Hours of Work: Up to 10 hours per week
Wage Rate: $24.36 per hour (Start Rate); $27.42 per hour (Job Rate)
