Medicine Hat College is seeking a temporary, full-time International Student Services Specialist in our International Education department.
Details:
• Two years of related experience (international student services, international education, student services), preferably in post-secondary education.
• Strong intercultural knowledge and experience in working with culturally diverse populations.
• This position requires a candidate who holds Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA) or RCIC designation or who has made significant progress toward obtaining RISIA designation.
• Considerable knowledge of immigration rules as they apply to international students
• Event and activity planning and promotion skills
• Strong understanding of: adjustment process for international students, effective strategies to ease transition, and the contribution of international students to the College
• Fluent in English. A conversational ability/fluency in another language is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
• First Aid and Mental Health First Aid training (candidates without this certification must obtain it within the first 1 year of employment)
• Experience with Student Information Systems is an asset.
Term of Appointment: ASAP – March 31, 2028
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Pay Rate: $30.90 per hour (Start Rate); $34.54 per hour (Job Rate)
