Medicine Hat College is seeking part-time Nursing Instructors in our collaborative nursing degree program with the University of Calgary.
A little about the role:
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate significant experience supporting student learning in both community and clinical environments, including the development and delivery of lab guides, student learning plans, clinical learning activities, student placements, and clinical evaluations. The candidate must show the ability to work independently and effectively within the full scope of this role, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, supporting curriculum implementation, and contributing to program planning, quality improvement, and laboratory resource coordination. Given the breadth of responsibilities, the successful candidate must be able to quickly assume the full scope of responsibilities and provide immediate support to students, faculty, and program operations.
Term Appointment: ASAP to December 2026 (with the possibility of an extension)
Work Hours: 216 hours for the appointment term
Details:
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
- 5 years of full-time nursing practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current or immediate eligibility for CRNA registration and be a member in good standing.
- Experience developing educational materials is required.
- Demonstrated involvement in curriculum implementation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of professional standards, scope of practice and clinical competencies.
- Willingness to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that focuses on student success and has a positive, appreciative and enthusiastic personality.
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy.
- Prior teaching experience is preferred, with the ability to incorporate theory into practice.
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
