Medicine Hat College is inviting applications for Part-Time Paramedic Instructor(s) for the 2026 Winter and Spring semesters.
A little about the role:
The primary workload will involve teaching and facilitating laboratory components within the paramedic program curriculum. At the direction of the course lead, responsibilities include preparing and delivering lab sessions, demonstrating and modelling clinical skills, providing constructive feedback to support student learning and development, assessing and evaluating student performance, and maintaining accurate documentation to ensure both student progression and overall program success. In addition, the role may include supporting students during clinicals and practicums by reinforcing skill application, liaising with preceptors, and contributing to the evaluation of student performance in an applied setting.
Specific teaching assignments will be determined based on curricular requirements, scheduling considerations, and instructor expertise to ensure program quality and student success. Assignments may vary from term to term in response to evolving program demands.
Details:
- An Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) credential with current registration through the Alberta College of Paramedics.
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience at the ACP level.
- Strong interpersonal and interprofessional collaboration skills, along with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.
- Proficiency with technology, including the ability to provide effective feedback and learner support.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level (considered an asset).
- An equivalent combination of education and professional experience may also be considered.
Future, part-time assignments may also be offered to successful candidates with positive first year reviews and availability of work.
