The Centre for Innovation (C4i) at Medicine Hat College (MHC) is seeking a Student Research Assistant for a 240‑hour Innovation Work Term beginning in May. This role is designed for a Sustainable Innovation student interested in leading a focused innovation project from concept to completion, with flexibility to help shape the project direction based on their interests and emerging opportunities within C4i’s priority areas.
A little about the role:
This role involves leading the design and execution of an applied innovation project in collaboration with the C4i team. You will help shape the project’s focus based on your interests, program background, and C4i’s priority areas, which may include agriculture, health and wellness, technology, sustainability, or regional development. Throughout the project, you will conduct research, engage with stakeholders as needed, and develop practical, evidence‑based recommendations aligned with project objectives. You will also be responsible for preparing clear and comprehensive project documentation that outlines key insights, outcomes, and considerations for future development. This position provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in innovation research, project design, and applied problem‑solving while contributing meaningful work to the Centre for Innovation.

- Enrollment in the Sustainable Innovation program, with interest in applying your learning to real-world challenges
- Experience with independent research or project-based coursework would be considered an asset
Hours of Work: 240 hours total
Wage Rate: $20.00 per hour
