Medicine Hat and Brooks campuses will be impacted by a power shutdown from June 13 – 16, 2025. The majority of shutdown activity will happen in Brooks on June 13 and Medicine Hat on June 14, however the impact will be ongoing throughout the closure dates.
Please see below for campus-specific details:

*The shutdown will not affect power at Golfview and Couleeview residences in Medicine Hat, but Wi-Fi access will be unavailable throughout the weekend.
Key Information:
To support the power shutdown, IT Services will begin to shut down all computers, networking, and servers on Friday, June 13 (starting 8am at the Brooks campus, 4:30 pm at the Medicine Hat campus). This means access to college IT systems will be unavailable at both campuses (Medicine Hat and Brooks) and includes:
- All Wi-Fi services, including residences at the Medicine Hat campus
- The website (www.mhc.ab.ca) - please check our social media for news and events during this time)
Access to MHC and mymhc email, Office 365, MS Teams, One Drive, StarRez, Blackboard, and Unit 4 will not be impacted as these systems are cloud-based.
To ensure safety, there will be no access to college buildings at Medicine Hat and Brooks campuses during the shutdown. IT Services will work to bring the systems back online once the shutdown is complete, but expect access to be limited until Monday, June 16 at 7am.
