Annual power shutdown on MHC campus (June 19-22)
A planned annual power shutdown will take place at Medicine Hat College’s Medicine Hat campus from June 19 to 22.
The shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, excluding Coulee View, Golfview Residence, Daycare, H Building, N Building and M Building.
To support this work, the Medicine Hat campus will be closed from Friday, June 19 at 4:30 p.m. to Monday, June 22 at 7 a.m. During this time, there will be no access to affected buildings on campus.
IT Services will begin powering down systems at 5 p.m. on June 19. During the shutdown period, access to most college IT systems will be unavailable at both campuses.
Wi‑Fi services at both campuses and in residences, as well as the website (www.mhc.ab.ca) will be offline. Exchange email, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Blackboard and other cloud-based systems will remain available.
Systems will be restored following the shutdown, but access may be limited until Monday.
Power will remain on at the Brooks campus; however, services may be limited due to IT and Wi‑Fi disruptions.
Staff, faculty and students who have materials, equipment, or research that may be affected are encouraged to plan accordingly.
