MHC welcomes new student members to Board of Governors

Medicine Hat College (MHC) is pleased to welcome two new student members to its Board of Governors.

Nicholas Cumming and Terri-Lee Currah have been appointed by the Government of Alberta as student representatives on the Board. Their appointments were effective June 24, 2026, each for a one-year term.

Both members bring a student perspective to the Board, which is responsible for the governance of the institution.

“I see this as a great opportunity,” said Cumming, president of the Students’ Association of Medicine Hat College and a Business Administration student. “MHC offers students many opportunities to get involved, and serving on the Board allows me to represent students while building connections and learning from leaders in our community.

Currah, who is entering her second year of the Business Administration program with a marketing major, emphasized the importance of connecting student experience to decision-making at the Board level.

“I see myself as a bridge between students and the Board,” said Currah. “I understand the challenges and opportunities students face, and I’m looking forward to sharing that perspective while supporting student success.”

The Board of Governors provides oversight and strategic direction for MHC, ensuring the institution continues to meet its mandate under Alberta’s Post-secondary Learning Act.
