Dr. B. Edward Benoit to lead School of Arts, Science & Education
Medicine Hat College's (MHC) School of Arts, Science & Education will welcome a new dean this fall as Dr. B. Edward Benoit joins the College following nearly 25 years of leadership in British Columbia's post-secondary sector.
Bringing experience as a faculty member, dean and associate vice-president academic, Dr. Benoit has built a career spanning teaching, post-secondary administration and institutional planning. Most recently, he served as Associate Vice-President, Academic at the College of New Caledonia, where he provided strategic leadership for teaching and learning, applied research, continuing education, academic quality assurance and regional campuses.
Dr. Benoit says he was drawn to the role by MHC’s commitment to accessible learning opportunities and its focus on preparing individuals for the workforce or further studies.

In addition to his administrative experience, Dr. Benoit's recent scholarly work has focused on leadership development in higher education and enhancing neuroinclusivity within post-secondary learning environments. His academic credentials include a Doctor of Education from Western University and a Master of Arts in History from McGill University.
The School of Arts, Science & Education provides pathways in arts, humanities, social sciences, education, sciences and university transfer studies. Dr. Benoit's experience leading diverse academic portfolios and fostering collaborative partnerships will support its continued growth and evolution.
Dr. Benoit will begin his role on August 15, 2026.
