MHC Open House helps future students find their fit

Choosing a post-secondary path is an important step, and Medicine Hat College's (MHC) annual Open House invites future students and their supporters to visit campus, explore programs, meet instructors, connect with current students and experience student life firsthand.

Taking place at the Medicine Hat Campus on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the Brooks Campus on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Open House is free and open to anyone.

According to Grace McCue, student recruiter at MHC, Open House brings MHC to life through conversations, experiences and connections.

“Many students arrive at Open House with questions, not answers,” says McCue. “Whether someone knows exactly what they want to study or is still exploring their options, this is a great chance to meet instructors, connect with current students and discover what feels like the right fit for them.”

Attendees can explore classrooms, labs, shops and learning spaces, speak directly with faculty and current students, and learn more about admissions, financial supports, student life and career pathways.

“Open House allows people to start building connections that can stay with them throughout their MHC journey,” adds McCue. “It helps future students feel more confident and gives them a chance to experience the college firsthand.”

New this year, attendees at the Medicine Hat Campus can visit a STEM Discovery Zone presented by CF Industries, featuring interactive, hands-on activities.

Whether attendees know exactly where they want to go or are still discovering their interests, Open House is designed to help future learners explore possibilities and take the next step with confidence.
