Important Information about Blackboard Sharing and Personal Developments
As an instructor, you may choose whether to share your Blackboard course materials with another instructor.
If you choose to share, CITE can facilitate the transfer of course content and communicate any permissions or usage expectations you specify.
CITE does not determine ownership of course materials, or enforce permissions after content has been shared. Recipients are expected to respect the permissions and expectations provided by the originating instructor.
Questions regarding intellectual property ownership, licensing, or permitted uses should be directed to the appropriate College office (ipo@mhc.ab.ca).
To proceed with sharing your course content, please complete the Blackboard Request Form.
A personal development course provides you with a private Blackboard space to explore ideas, copy existing materials, experiment with course design, and refine content before using it in a live course. You have full flexibility to build and customize content in this environment.
You may also request access for additional instructors if you are collaborating. Please note that creation of personal development shells is subject to available Blackboard system capacity. While we aim to accommodate requests whenever possible, not all requests may be approved.
CITE is unable to add instructors to previous Blackboard courses, as doing so would violate the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA). Providing access to a past course would allow an additional instructor to view student grades and other personal information, which must be protected.
To share course content, please use the Blackboard Request Form so we can transfer material in a way that respects privacy requirements.
