Session

Writing and Refining Effective Learning Outcomes

Session Description

CITE Teaching Series provides meaningful insights on popular educational practices and supports teaching excellence at Medicine Hat College. In this session, we will explore how to create clear, measurable, and meaningful outcomes that reflect what students should know, do, and value by the end of a course. Well-written outcomes not only guide instructors in planning and assessment but also help students understand expectations.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
•  Explain the purpose and key components of an effective outcomes.
•  Apply the ABCD model and Bloom’s Taxonomy to write measurable and observable learning outcomes.
•  Refine existing learning outcomes to improve clarity, alignment, and measurability.
