Elias West, Counselling Intern
I believe counselling is a collaborative process grounded in trust, empathy, and genuine human connection. My approach is primarily person-centred and strength-based, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. I strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and respected.
Elias is a practicum counsellor completing his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Before pursuing counselling, he worked as an elementary school teacher for seven years, where he developed a passion for supporting people through challenging experiences and important periods of growth. He approaches counselling from a person-centred and collaborative perspective and is particularly interested in helping individuals navigate anxiety, stress, self-doubt, and life transitions.
When he isn’t working or studying, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar and listening to music, as well as going outdoors.
