Addictions Counselling with Families
This course looks at how families are affected by addiction
and introduces techniques to work with family systems in the
recovery process. Students will explore the concepts of family
survival roles/resilience, co-dependency and enabling, and
they will develop strategies to help families who are caught
in the addictions cycle. Advocacy and effective methods
of empowering families to promote responsible parenting,
accountability and healthy family roles are explored.
