Civil Design II

Students will be introduced to the principles, applications, and components of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for municipal infrastructure and land development. Topics include database design, data collection, manipulation, storage, and retrieval.
Effective display of information for presentation of mapping data is covered. Students will apply different analysis techniques such as buffering and network analysis for road or pipe networks. Civil engineering topics in urban planning and subdivision layout will be introduced. Students will use AutoCAD MAP 3D and/or QGIS to create a variety of technical documents.
