Mechanical Design I
This course will examine fundamental applied physics, statics, and strength of materials for mechanical design with an emphasis on hands-on learning. Autodesk Inventor will be used as a tool to explore and visualize problems and solutions. Topics will include force systems, free-body diagrams, stress and strain, and basic structural analysis. Advanced 3D modeling and simulation tools such as Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) will be covered. Practical topics include bracket design, frames, and truss analysis.
- Prerequisite: CADD 101
- Hours: 70, (2-3)
