Fundamentals of Professional Practice
This course introduces students to the professional practices, responsibilities, and expectations of engineering and architectural technicians in the workplace. Topics include fundamental business principles, project management processes, contracts, and codes/standards across disciplines. Students are introduced to the practical application of health and safety legislation in office and field environments, ethical responsibilities under the ASET Code of Ethics, and principles of sustainability. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, professional conduct, communication, and the development of skills for ongoing professional growth.
