CARE Referral


The CARE Team works to identify, assess, and mitigate risk for students. CARE referrals are for early intervention, NOT EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. You can report a particular behaviour or interaction, or a concern for an individual's well-being. Unless there is a compelling reason not to, it is best practice to inform the person you are submitting a referral.

An emergency situation includes:

  • Active violence towards self, others or property
  • Assault in progress
  • In progress suicide attempt
  • In progress overdose/suspicion of overdose
  • A direct, realistic threat towards others
  • A medical emergency
