New Student ID Cards
New students are encouraged to get a free ID card by following the steps below:

Upload your photo on Dashboard. If you would like a physical card, check the box. Virtual ID cards appear within Dashboard and must include a student photo to be valid.

Cost & Renewing
The first ID card for students is free. ID cards cannot be issued on the same day you register/enroll at the college. For new students, cards can be issued up to 45 days prior to the beginning of the earliest semester you are attending. Students enrolled in community education/non-credit classes will not receive a student ID card.
Returning students can renew their ID cards in the Fall semester. Bring your ID card to the library, and staff will stick a new validation sticker to the card.
There is a $5 replacement fee for lost cards, however, worn cards will be reviewed and replaced for free at the card issuer's discretion. So please, DO NOT throw the card out - even if you are gone for more than a year.
Using Your Student ID Card
The student ID card is your key to accessing facilities and services at Medicine Hat College. Campus Security can ask you to present the card to them - particularly during the evening and weekend hours.
The campus ID card will serve as:
- your library card (a screenshot of your virtual ID card (showing photo) will be accepted at the library's Service Desk when checking out material, however, an image of a physical card will NOT be accepted.),
- access to campus recreational facilities,
- access to 24-hour computer labs (must be presented to security staff to access the room),
- access to Students' Association sponsored events,
- discounts to local businesses and public transit (for more information, contact the Students' Association).
