Medicine Hat College’s (MHC) Brooks campus celebrated student and staff achievement at their annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.
Officials from the college handed out four president and 36 college honour roll certificates, 26 scholarship awards and 11 other accolades.
“Overall it was a great event. We were happy to have an opportunity to celebrate our students and open our doors to the community,” said Reg Radke, manager of MHC’s Brooks campus. “One of the advantages to being a smaller campus is that we are able to put our personal touch on these types of events, which we feel was well received. It was a nice showcase of the academic success that is achieved at Brooks.”
New this year was the pre-employment welding and computerized bookkeeping certificate program awards.
“Part-time, professional students make up a big part of our student population on campus. These two programs in particular showcase the skilled training we offer that benefits our community,” said Radke.
