Medicine Hat College’s (MHC) board of governors has determined that Wayne Resch, vice-president of administration and finance, will serve as acting president. The decision was made as a result of the announcement that Dr. Denise Henning will leave the institution on March 16, 2018.
Wayne Resch has been with MHC since 2003 and has served in the role of vice-president administration and finance since 2014. An alumnus of the institution, he was also a member of the Rattlers volleyball team.
“In my time at Medicine Hat College, I’ve grown to care a great deal about this institution and its people. My priority will be to support staff and faculty to ensure they can continue to provide high quality, personalized experiences to our students and communities,” says Resch.
The college’s board of governors will commence the search for a new president immediately.
“The process to recruit a new president takes time, but we are confident that Mr. Resch can provide the support and leadership necessary to carry on the good work of Medicine Hat College,” says Graham Kelly, board chair.
Resch will assume the acting role on March 17, 2018.
