MHC Career Expo brings employment opportunities together
October 13, 2022
Career Expo makes a return to Medicine Hat College (MHC) on Oct. 26, with almost 50 exhibitors looking to connect with job seekers and grow their organizations.
The expo, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Centennial Hall, is open to the community. It serves to highlight available or potential employment opportunities and services for local job seekers and students.
“After having virtual and drive-thru events for the past couple of years, we are so thrilled to welcome back on campus an array of new and returning organizations from across Western Canada. Job seekers can expect a diverse group of organizations this year, who are extremely eager to talk about their employment pathways,” says Shelly Drefs, career services assistant with MHC’s Career Centre.
“Looking for work or changing careers can be a daunting experience, so we are very excited to offer an event where job seekers and students can meet employers face-to-face, ask them questions, get advice on how to stand out from other applicants, and explore possible avenues for employment.”
Exhibitors represent various industries including trades, education, healthcare, finance, power engineering, agriculture, regional innovation, security, insurance, recreation, human services, as well as provincial and federal agencies in search of staff, to name a few.
Members of the community who are looking for work have a great opportunity to jumpstart a new career through this event. Drefs adds there are many new exhibitors to this year’s event, which is always great to see.
Various employment support services will also be on hand to help ensure jobseekers have all they need as they move forward in their job search. For more information on the Career Expo, visit: www.mhc.ab.ca/careerexpo.
